Why I don't click when someone tells me "do NOT click this link"
One time someone posted a link on a discussion board as an example of a very bad link for someone to post. He followed up by saying DO NOT CLICK THAT LINK. I then read somebody's response to that, which said something to the effect of, "seriously, don't." Well I (stupid) had to see what could be so bad that people would seriously tell me not to click it, right?
The link contained an image, and the image was the most repulsive thing I've ever seen or could imagine. Not repulsive in a "sewage treatment plant" type of way, or even in a "holocaust victim" type of way. We're talking, "pass me the napalm, I need it for my eyeballs" stuff here. And I will not go into any more detail than that. And I won't even hint at what the link was, because I seriously don't want anybody to go in search of it.
Do you hear me? DO NOT go in search of repulsively gross things. Don't click things that people tell you not to click. I don't even like to click random things that people put up, unless they're folks that I know and trust wouldn't do something like that.
